Top Event Planning Trends to Watch in 2025

While I love wedding planning—because who wouldn’t want to play a part in such a monumental day—I equally love opportunities to pivot to other important themed events for clients like birthdays, baby showers, retirement parties, and more! From beginning to end, I make sure that not only is the event seamless and organized, but each detail appears effortless.

All you have to do is show up and enjoy!

Thankfully, each event is distinct to the client, giving me so much creative freedom to pull off any event even while ensuring it’s personalized to YOU. I also keep myself informed on the latest trends in décor and design. Right now, the industry is abuzz with so many amazing themes to choose from, but I’ve got a couple that caught my eye as we head further into 2025.

  • Soda Soirée

Last year, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives captivated many of us, especially with their obsession over high-end carbonated drinks! Which got me thinking: what better way to turn a space into a fun-loving, retro callback than a Soda Soirée?!

For this theme, I’m thinking mid-century style décor with classic art, soda parlor vibes, and colours that—no pun intended—POP! You can even encourage guests to go all out with pin-up type outfits, Rosie the Riveter hairdo’s, and that all around 50s housewife chic style.

It’s bubbles done in a distinct, beautiful way that brings a bit of pep to your party!

  • Enchanted Forest

One thing I LOVE about this theme is that it’s not restricted to summer—you can easily transform an indoor space into an enchanted wonderland full of lush greens, ambient lighting, colourful blooms, and gilded accents that transport you to a bespoke Parisian forest.

I’m a big fan of dark greens with gold accents because it adds a touch of moodiness while still remaining refined and elegant. Add in twinkle lights with sheer drapery for a touch of Midsummer Night’s Dream and you’ve got a theme as memorable as the event itself!

  • Café at Home

There’s something comforting about cafés—the smell of fresh pastries, decadent cakes, warm coffees, spicy chai, delicious matcha lattés, and soft ambient music. So why not bring that cozy aesthetic to your next event?

With warm earth tones, natural lighting, vintage accents, and maybe some pastel flowers—the overall result is soothing and full of modern comfort. You can tailor it to your tastes by curating a menu with your favourite drinks and treats, perfect for a brunch or early afternoon party.

  • Mocktail Party

Dry January may have come and gone, but these days there’s a real interest in alc-free options at events, especially if it’s a baby shower where the expecting mother can’t partake. And it also means no pesky hangovers!

For this theme, I picture a beautiful display of crystal decanters and sweeping charcuterie platters to act as nibbles and bites while your guests sip on a variety of fresh, flavourful mocktails. With each guest allocated their own champagne coupé they can mix and mingle, trying each drink without a worry about driving later on.

The drinks themselves will be just as sophisticated as any cocktail bar, and the decor reminiscent of a speakeasy with art deco and Roaring Twenties inspired details.

  • Boho Chic

With nude tones, plenty of textured lace, and an emphasis on earthy and ethereal vibes, this aesthetic is as dreamy as it is classic.

With a palette leaning towards beige, ivory, sage green, and blush, it easily compliments the Okanagan because it pairs so well with semi-arid desert landscapes. Layer the theme with light wood and whicker elements and it’s both cozy and elevated.

One thing I love about this theme is how it leans into grounding elements, making it just as fun to set up as it is to attend.
